History
Tom Everhart was no blockhead when he recognized Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” cartoons as fine art. While preparing for a meeting with the cartoonist, Everhart projected Schulz’s drawings onto a 25-foot wall, and was astounded to discover the pen-and-ink lines resembled painterly brushstrokes. While he lacked a cartoonist's background, Everhart felt an instant connection between Schulz’s masterful line art and his own expressionist work. The only fine artist authorized by Schulz to utilize his “Peanuts” characters, Everhart re-creates them in rambunctious streaks and splashes of vibrant color. Everhart’s work has been shown in numerous esteemed museums worldwide, including Paris’ Louvre.
