UNC 1793 Old Well Lamp with Hand Pump Light Switch

Description I have very few details on this lamp. It was supposedly made in the 20's from the other two I have found online. The base says University of North Carolina 1793. It has 6 columns, seems to have a bronze finish that has been rubbed off in several spots. The hand pump in the center acts as a light switch and turns on the 2 bulbs above. It is missing the shade. Not sure what it is made of but it is heavy. Interested in finding out who made it, when and who it was made for.
