This belonged to my Great Grandmother and was told that she acquired it sometime in the early 1900's. I have tried to find markings or any information, but there is nothing.
Looking online I have found something similar but completely different, as the online item was a similar figure but everything was different and modified.
Cast Iron lamps like this were made in relatively large numbers, usually made as commemoratives during anniversary years (25th, 50th, 75th, 100th etc,) of an event the person depicted was involved with, or their Birth/Death dates. I've seen these lamps in recent years going for about $100.00 at auction.
