this is a wood desk. it has a built in bookshelf on the side of it. it has no names or markings anywhere. Under the middle drawer it has a N42 stamped in green. wondering how old it is.
It's a 1950's version of Colonial Revival style made by a number of American and Canadian companies , Vilas being one of the better known makers. Such pieces were generally part of a whole suite, which get broken up in estate sales. Some people collect this stuff, trying to get the whole suite, so values can sometimes be suprising. I've seen similar pieces sell from $50.00- $350.00 at auction.
