Description
I really do not know anything about these chairs other than my friends Grandparents were antique dealers and these were part of their personal property. When they passed I was offered the chairs and a few other pieces. I thought the chairs were really nice and may be worth something. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Wooden chair set with carved Ivory backs
They are English and date from the 1890's, loosely based on Elizabethan and Jacobean chairs. They originally had cane backs, the backs in them now are replacements. Values last peaked for furniture like this in the 1990's, values have been in decline since then. Most comparables sell for undere $75.00 at auction.
