Description
A trunk made of wood (probably oak). Inside front is a 2"wide hinged compartment running the length and down to the bottom. (I really would like to know what this was used for.) It looks as if there was some sort of covering over all the outside corners. Maybe metal, but this is gone. (This is why I said poor condition. Otherwise condition is probably fair or good.)
Re: Wooden trunk
This origianllywas a carpenters trunk, at one time it would have contained a series of trays for tools, virtually every tool a carpenter would use going from job to job would have been contained in it. These were made in this style from about 1840-80, this one appears to be pine, as most were.Value wise 275.00- $400.00 .
