Tables of this type

Tables of this type generally date from the first quarter of the 20th Century, but remained in and out of production following the dictates of fashion for the next 50 years. The style is what's referred to as the 'Colonial Revival style'. The style getting its name because such pieces used stylist motifs found on American Colonial furniture originally made 1620-1780. The company that made this one operated until about 1966. Value about - $450.00

Do you know about this type?

I have a Jefferson "slide table" that is a Duncan Fife type. Do you know the history period of this type? I am re-finishing it but it was badly marred by it's previous owner. Must have been beautiful wood at one time. It has a reddish tint to it that really warmed up when I put on mahogony stain as the cherry was too light. thanks for your help.

Re: Jefferson Woodworking Co., Louisville KY Table

I have a gateleg table with a jefferson slide.  When you open it the leaf rolls up and then opens.  I can't find the company itself.  Can anyone tell me anything about this kind of table?  I have no idea of what it is worth, although in 1974 I had a guy refinish it and he wanted to purchase it.  He hand refinished it, telling me about the different types of wood it is made out of.  The top is softer than the leg.  Any info please spill it.  lol  thanks

Type " Colonial Revival" in the "Search instappraisal" search box at the top right. This topic has been discussed before.
