Seems to me that this is a "Morris-type" chair. Every other morris chair I've ever seen was bigger, and the front legs and front support for the arms was much flatter, not at all square or helical. So, what side of 1900 is this chair?
What's the story on the rear extension of the arms with grooves for the rod?
Actually the original
Actually the original English Morris chairs were quite a bit lighter in construction compared to what came after. This example is very similar to what could be purchased from compaines such as Montgomery-Ward during the 1890's.
