These are also called Musical Mosques, they have been made for at least a hundred years by a variety of manufacturers and different materials. The earliest boxes of this type were made of wood to hold cigars. The panels were a little taller to accomodate the length of the cigar.

If in good condition and good working order the insurance replacement cost is $1200. Resale on the secondary market is $400 - $1,000. Depending upon where you sell it.
