My grandparents owned a matching couch, armchair and 3 side chairs that were used as sitting chairs in their house. The arm and side chair seem like dining room furniture, but the matching couch throws things off. At any rate, I'd like to complete the arm chair and side chairs for use as my dining room set; however, I have no idea how to look for them since I know nothing about the name of the furniture, the maker or even the era. Any help on how to go about trying to find matching chairs would be great, and a ballpark on how much I could expect to pay would be even better!

<p>I am not positive but by judging the type of patterm of the Chair and its antiqueing on the legs it appears to have quite a bit of value. The love seat on the other hand is well made and is a little more modern so I would say that wouldn't be as valuable. I would have to feel the craftsmanship in person to get a better idea of the value of the items I would think in combination it would be around $6000-$10,000 depending upon the maker and age</p><p>Sybil </p>

<p>Sorry to rain on the parade, but there is no way this set is worth $6000-$10,000. It's Victorian Circa 1870, but nothing out of the ordinary. Such furniture is currently out of vogue and values have been declining for it the last five years. Of 23 comparable suites we have listings for sold within the last year at auction for less than$1500.00 .</p><p> </p><p>Lovejoy </p>
