ball and claw amethyst bottle with spelling error

By Anonymous (not verified), 26 June, 2008
Description

This is a normal ball and claw amethyst bottle except when you look closer at the lettering on the side. Instead of "ball and claw", the bottle is imprinted with "ball amd claw" with the word and being mispelled. This looks to be a genuine ball and claw bitters bottle to me, just with a misspelling. Could someone please tell me if this is a genuine error or some sort of repro? Also, if it is an error, can you tell me how many are known to exist? The bottle is 8" tall and says "ball amd claw bitters" on BOTH sides of the bottle. On the bottom of the bottle it says "made in taiwan".

Re: ball and claw amethyst bottle with spelling error

I have the exact bottle except it's only 2 inches tall. I got it at an antique store then when I got it home realized the bottom says made in taiwan. I figure it's a repo. But I love it just the same. Good luck finding out anything.

Thank you. You verified my suspicions and now I know not to go and try selling it anywhere. At least I didn't pay anything for it, it can just go into my art props collection now.
