Description

this is a small chalkboard that a friend said may have been used as a salesman sample and i do not have a picture of this board at this time. It is 26x19 with a wood shelf at the bottom to hold chalk. It also has a logo at the top that reads National school slate company Slatington penn.

national school slate company was started in 1847 and was a world importer for slate they made chalk boads and pencils in slatington penn. i purchased this at a yard sale in ohio

I also found small chalk board 22x16 at an auction, for which I paid $45! It's the same as yours with the wood frame and shelf for chalk...mine also came with the eraser. Thanks for the history of the company!

I bought a National School Slate chalkboard yesterday at a store in New Hampshire. It is in mint condition, approximately 33x23. (the original seal in in the front-middle position). I paid $57! I just love it in my kitchen!
