Description
Don't know who did these or if they are worth anything. The first picture was matted in white or maybe a cream white, has colored slightly with age. It does have some staining, scuffing, and other damage on the border/frame of the picture. The picture itself is in good condition, depicting a fairy and maybe some gnomes or something with some floral at the top. Night scene, very pretty but not signed anywhere. The second picture depicts a daytime fairy I'm guessing in what looks like an ocean of water. It is matted in a charcoal blue and also has some staining and damage on the mat but the picture itself is in good condition. No signature on this one anywhere, either. Both are 8" X 10".
Re: Two unidentified fairy prints
The one in white is Meadowland, by Sulamith Wulfing.
The one in blue is Mermaid, by Sulamith Wulfing.
Many of her drawings were sold as greeting cards and illustrations for children's books.
Sulamith Wulfing was born in Germany in 1901, Sulamith Wulfing began drawing at the age of 4. Her family concerned itself with spiritual matters; in fact, her father was a Theosophist. A touch of the supernatural imbues all her work. She attended Art College in Wuppertal and completed her course of studies there in 1921. Her home and much of her art was destroyed during WW2. She continued to draw and paint until her death in 1989.
You can still find her find her work on greeting cards and such so there isn't a high demand.
I found similar works of hers going for $10.00 on ebay. You might want to do more searching now that you know who made them. I Love her work!
