Green Stone (Possibly Nephrite Jade) Necklace

By AutumnRose, 12 September, 2008
Description

I'm not sure how old this Necklace is (May be from the 1920's)...My Ex-husband gave it to me as a gift about 30 years ago. The necklace is marked Sterling and has 3 green stones (Possibly Nephrite Jade) in it...It also has a  few marcasites in the necklace.

I happened to notice that Barbara Hershey wears one very simliar with matching earrings in the movie "THE NATURAL" I would be very interested to find out if it is old and what it might be worth...I wear it quite often and have had people ask me where I got it.

Thank you for any help you can give me!

Re: Green Stone Necklace

It could be nephrite jade...you can't tell by looking at a photo.

You need to find a gem appraiser who has knowlege about jade.

Good Luck!

Re: Green Stone Necklace

Hey Sue,

Thank you for the help...That's what I thought it was too, but wasn't sure.   My Ex-husband gave it to me about 28-30 years ago and he was told, at that time, it could be about 60 to 70 years old.  All I know is that I like it!  Smile  Anyway, thanks again!
