History
I know that the author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, was one of the greatest writers of the American Renaissance Period. I have knowledge of all of his writings, and know that The House of the Seven Gables was one of his greatest works, other than The Scarlet Letter. This novel was given to me by a history instructor. I am a history major at Ole Miss. She found the book at a rummage sale in Alabama.

Re: Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel, The House of the Seven Gables

Values for books dpends a great deal on rarity, the edition and condition. In the case of the 1893 edition this book in very good condition lists for about $65.00 in inventories of Antiquarian booksellers,  but copies in less than perfect condition sell for less than $20.00.
