Re: matching antique parlor chair set

This is a matched pair of Rococo Revival " Ladies & Gentleman's" chairs, made about 1870. Most were either walnut or mahogany. They were a very hot item during the 1980's where even just a mid quality Gentleman's chair would sell for $750.00. Today though the bloom is off the rose ;~) pairs often sell at auction for under $300.00.
