I bought these busts online and the little old lady who sold and sent them to me hasn't the slightest idea how to pack fragile items for the mail. I have to return these to her to get my PayPal refund but before I do I want to be sure of their value in case they are worth a lot - even broken.
The name "Leni" appears in large letters within the busts.
Re: 2 French Art Nouveau Busts
WHAT a shame.
I just bought a water pitcher and wash bowl from 1890 that I researched the maker of on ebay and when I got it the bowl was destroyed and pitcher is chipped.
I was so upset that the thing lasted that long and just because the moron couldn't pack it its ruined. There was more air space than packing in the box. They think because they write "fragile" all over the box that it will be hand carried to the door.
Had insurance so I am waiting for the refund..........fun.
No idea about your items previous value but they look like they are really beyond repair. Plaster is not fixed easily.
Re: 2 French Art Nouveau Busts
Thanks, KathyBeh. I am so sorry to hear about your items, too.
Exactly - they last so long and are going to someone who would cherish them and then - this insane packing. It boggles my mind the way they were packed and then the utter arrogance of the woman who ruined them is even more of a stunner.
Anyhoo. I am sending them back today.
At least one other antique fan got to see them before they're gone! Thanks again for your note.
