Coin: Presented by His excellency The Governor General (Earl Grey - Canada)

By amac, 6 July, 2009
Description

Another item I found while cleaning out my mother's house. It was *perhaps* given to my great-great grandfather, Andrew Thomson of Quebec City since his accomplishments fit the time frame in question.

But I really don't know for sure.

Re: Coin: Presented by His excellency The Governor General ...

The Artist name is Emil Fuchs. He did alot of work for the Upper Class in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I know he did coronation (sp) metals for the Queen of England. He also did a postage stamp. I have a relief by him. As an artist he did alot using all mediums- Painting, Sculpture, Bronzes etc.-Michelle

My better guess is that it is bronze. You could take it to a jeweler store and have that question answered.
