My grandfather fought in WWII and when raiding Hitlers home(s) found these platters. There are six in all, all in mint condition. My grandparents have held on to these since then and just passed them on to me. My grandmother does not know exactly what year they were actually hand made, but no later than 1945 when my grandfather brought them home. The plate is white with a maroon/red thin trim line around the circumference, top center of the platter is a hand painted double tailed mermaid with a triton on top of her head, she is encircled with a maroon/red lined oval, and above the oval are the letters R A B with a dot in between the R and the A and between the A and the B. On the back is the Nymphenburg stamp, and the potters inlay stamp, and the number 2 then F then N. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to find out what year it was made in and approximatly how much they are worth. Thank you.

Re: WWII Nymphenburg Platter Plates owned by Adolph Hitler
Did you ever get an appraisal or more information on your plates?
I discovered your post while researching R.A.B on Google. I have a silver Tea Strainer with the same R.A.B and the double-tailed Mermaid on the front of the handle. On the back is Rasthaus am Chiemsee and maker mark is GEBR.HEPP 90 which is the Gebruder Hepp Co. The Rasthaus was commissioned by Hitler on this stretch of Autobahn and the dining area contained his exclusive dining room. It's grand opening was August, 1938. R.A.B I have concluded stood for Reichsautobahn.
I am still puzzled by the double-tailed Mermaid or Melusine. It was common in German Heraldry. The same and other silver companies stamped particular logos on silverware for specific personages in the High Command, most had swastikas, but some had special marks including elephant, alpaca, initals [Eva Braun = EB] etc. So WHO did the Mermaid represent?
I can supply a photo but I don't see a way to add my own or my 3rd party hosted photos...
