Your Sermel elephant was most likely made in the 1980-90's, not the 60's. If it was made in the 60's it would have had a design motif of birds and flowers painted on it. Those motifs where normaly found on many ceramic items being produced in Tonala for decades prior. Sermel did not produce plain paper mache items like the one in your photo until the 1980's. Judging from the photo, I would say your item is valued at $20 - 30 dollars. Folks on eBay may be asking more, but a serious collector wouldn't pay more. I own two elephants just like this one.
