Long Description
These two side tables belonged to my great aunt, i remember her having these side tables when I was very young and I was born in 67. They are in great condition as she was particular about her things. Always bought high quality and took care of it. When you open the drawer in front you can see the label/maker name stamped in the side as if they used a technique similar to cattle branding. I don't know about these things but it's some type of label embossing. Clearly says Mersman. There is also another stamp with numbers on the underside of the tables.

Re: Mersman
Tables of this type generally date from the first quarter of the 20th Century, but remained in and out of production following the dictates of fashion for the next 50 years. The style is what's referred to as the 'Colonial Revival style'. The style getting its name because such pieces used stylist motifs found on American Colonial furniture originally made 1620-1780.
Mersman was a huge producer of tables, the largest producer of small tables of this type in the USA. This one is quite modern, value , about $100.00 at auction.
