The US issued eight stamps in 1893 to commemorate Christopher Columbus's discovery of America. The stamps ranged in denominations from 15 cents to $5...looks like you have all 8 This looks like 1 of yours, for over 3,000 just on Ebay ! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220430985829 http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/blmailus7.htm they were quite controversial. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbian_Issue in 2006 a complete set was over 10 grand...but I bet they'll probably keep going up. They buy/sell... http://www.stampcenter.com/blog/2006/10/celebrate-columbus-day-with-stamps.html but u should probable find your local philatelist group or auction house, who specializes in this.

In appraising these, please be aware that they are the cents postage stamps and not the dollar ones.

If they are the 1 cent stamps...each retail for around $24 mint , well centered and no flaws. Used- about 40 cents. Damaged copies are almost worthless and badly centered copies maybe 1/2. Wholesale, dealers pay from 1/10 to 1/3. retail for stamps like this in collections.
