Re: jade or jadeike buddha/hoetie

I have a bi-color marble sculpture of Hotei with dragon & Shishi on purple base. Your Hotei looks crude & too shiny...maybe, bad pic? See if there are bubbles in the casting & if warm instead of cold to touch. The base does look like marble. Does it come off base? If so, see if irregular tool marks on bottom or if regular from being cast.

If it is jade...it is worth a lot. Wish I had a jade one to compare but here is a pic of mine in marble, to compare...

Re: jade or jadeike buddha/hoetie

I have the exact same statue did you ever get an appraisal on this item? I would love more information as well. I know the price of jade is up to $3000 USD and ounce. He wasnt hand carved but rope burn carved. Its a rare milky green jade peice that  noone has an answer to our questions. This maybe be a set of bookends. You have one and I have the other.

Adding: The base is rosewood as you can see its the same color and hardness of the Ming Dynasty Times.
