ROSE CHINTZ, AND WNDSOR WARE BY JOHNSON BROS. MADE IN ENGLAND BUDDING PINK ROSE BUSH PATTERN

By dantera, 19 February, 2010
Description

[email protected]
2 DIFFERENT SETS OF JOHNSON BROS. CHINA WINDSOR WARE. F.B. & Co. MADE IN ENGLAND.
( I just found 3 more cups and a 3 plates to this set)THE FIRST TYPE IS IN MINT CONDITION WITH 7 DINNER PLATES, 7 SMALL SAUCERS, AND 8 TEA CUP/ SALAD PLATES AND 5 TEA CUPS. THE PATTERN IS BLOSSOMED RED/PINK ROSE BUSHES WITH OTHER FLORAL PATTERS OF SMALL 4 LEAF LIGHT BLUE FLOWERS AND OTHER PINKISH RED ONES ALONG WITH DETAILED LEAVES AND VINES. THE EDGES ON THE PLATES AND DISHES ARE FORMED WITH A WIDE RIPPLE IN THEM. THE CUPS ARE THAT MATCH SAY MADE IN ENGLAND ENGRAVED IN THE BOTTOM. THE DISHES SAY ROSE CHINTZ MADE IN ENGLAND BY JOHNSON BROS. PAT NO. 160,783.

THE OTHER SET IS OLDER AND ON SOME PLATES, THE FINISH IS SPIDER-WEBBED AND ONLY A FEW ARE CHIPPED. THERE ARE A LOT OF PIECES IN THIS SET AND THERE ARE A LOT OF REALLY NICE ONES. THIS SET SEEMS A LOT OLDER. ( JUST FOUND ANOTHER SMALL PLATE AND A LARGE PITCHER. I WILL RE-POST BOTH SEPARATELY ASAP)
8 LARGE PLATES 5 OR 6 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, OTHERS STILL LOOK NICE. 4 SMALLER PLATES IN EXCELLENT SHAPE, 8 OTHERS THAT ARE BARELY SMALLER THAN THE 4 JUST MENTIONED, 3 SMALL SAUCERS, 3 SMALL TEA CUP PLATES, 5 DIFFERENT SAUCER SERVING DISHES 2 OF WITCH ARE LARGE AND ONE OF THE 2 IS SLIGHTLY SMALLER. A HUGE OVAL SERVING TRAY, A HUGE ROUND SERVING PLATE, AND 3 TEA CUPS, A GRAVY/SUGAR BOWL WITH LID, 2 OTHER SERVING BOWLS WITH FINGER HOLE HANDLES-1 IS BROKEN OFF ON ONE OF THEM. THE PATTERN IS A BUDDING AND FLOWERED ROSE BUSH BUT UNLIKE THE OTHER SET THIS PRINT IS MORE SIMPLE WITH A SMALLER MORE CENTERED PATTERN. THERE IS A LIGHT BLUE RING ON THE OUTSIDE NEAR THE EDGE AND THE RIPPLED EDGES ARE VERY CLOSE AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE DISHES EXCEPT THE TEA CUPS. THE STAMP ON THE BOTTOM IS A BROWN SHIELD LIKE EMBLEM OUTLINED IN YELLOWISH GOLD STATING WINDSOR WARE F.B. & CO. JOHNSON BROTHERS ENGLAND

Re: ROSE CHINTZ, AND WNDSOR WARE BY JOHNSON BROS. MADE IN ...

I also have some of these simple rose patterned dishes but they each have a different colored ring around them in the colors of yellow, pink, blue, turquoise, light green,  beige - all soft pastel colors. I too would like to find out more about them, and their value.

Can someone help?
