Re: John Haymson Oil on Canvas

Mr. Haymonson died in 1980. He was noted for many American sceens of historical sites. Your painting is one by his hand and is very painterly. I would estimate your work at a value of 1,300 to 2,500 USD. Many of his works at auction have sold for around 400.00 to 750.00 dollars.

Re: John Haymson Oil on Canvas

I know almost nothing about this kind of art...I wonder if I have a reproduction? Perhaps it would be helpful to have someone examine it in person, rather than over the internet.

Re: John Haymson Oil on Canvas

Both, including 315robb's are prints on heavy board. They are considered decorative art and their value is probably under $50.

These type of reproductions were particularly popular in mid 20th century. They look very real due to the added clear varnish brush strokes. I hope this information is helpful.
