1966 Mountain Dew Willy the Hillbilly promotional figure

By mountain dew, 21 February, 2010
Description

I've had this "Willy the Hillbilly" Mountain Dew Man since 1972. I also have the original promo bottle. It is safely wrapped up and boxed away.
It was a gift. I have been researching since and have NEVER found any information about this 3' rare advertising vintage promotion product. I've always been curious, can you help me out?

Wow! I thought I had the only one! I've never seen one online before. Did you get any offers?

Re: 1966 Mountain Dew Willy the Hillbilly promotional figure

I have one of these also. My uncle worked for Pepsi and brought it home for me in the early 70s. Mine is not mounted on a stand and seems to be more of a doll. It is pliable and bendable. is yours too?

Re: 1966 Mountain Dew Willy the Hillbilly promotional figure

My husband remembers this doll! As a child in Wyoming, they were dropped from the sky in a Mountain Dew promotion. They had parachutes, and kids who found them were rewarded with a certain number of cases of Mountain Dew. Pretty cool!

Does anyone have one for sale? If so, how much? Thanks!

Re: 1966 Mountain Dew Willy the Hillbilly promotional figure

We had one of these years ago that sat out on our porch. I've often wondered what happened to him. My dad probably got a good offer on him. If you would like to sell this item please let me know. I have no idea of it's worth.

Re: 1966 Mountain Dew Willy the Hillbilly promotional figure

I don't know if you still have this or if you have found out any information on this collectable or not.  I have found 2 websites with information on value of the Mountain Dew doll. Ebay has one for $950.00.  Here are two sites about them.  I have been looking for one for my best friend who has a mountain dew tattoo that I designed and she loves anything mountain dew and has a big collection.

Thank you
