Born France 1832, he studied under Jouffroy in Paris. Exhibited at the Salon from 1863, winning a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. He specialised in Genre groups and figures. worked 19th century into the 20th century.

Pieces like these really require a physical appraisal, they've been widely reproduced since the turn of the 19th century, so age does not always mean they are authentic.
