Antique 19th Century Chinese Export Sewing Box Tools Needle Case & Clamp

Description Both pieces seem to be hand carved. Item 1: This appears to be a clamp of some kind, though I have no idea what it was actually used for. It has what appear to be birds and leaves carved on it. It is in great shape for its age, no cracks or chips, though it is dirty. Size: 1 3/8" x 7/8" x 1/4" (not including the screw in dowel piece which is 1 1/2" long x 1/4" at the knob part). Item 2: I'm pretty sure this is a needle case - though I guess you could use it for a toothpick holder too. It has a bird and some leaves carved on it. Lid screws on tightly. No chips or cracks. Size: 2 1/8" long x 1/2" round at the top which tapers to about 5/8" at the bottom. I listed these on eBay and they didn't sell, which probably means I over priced them because I really have no idea what they are worth...I just know they're old, so I thought they might be valuable.

History These were in a chinese box I picked up at a yard sale about 10 years ago. Found a similar box on eBay that said it was a sewing box from the 19th century, and was made as an export. I think one piece is a clamp of some sort and the other is a needle case.
