Re: 1911 picture " Drink you Rascal" Merchants Publishing Co....
'What I'd like to know is, why was it there??
The photo was copyrighted by Merchant's Publishing in 1911 in Kalamazoo Michigan so that is probably where it was printed, right? How (and why) did it get to Windsor, Nova Scotia? The reason I'm curious is because I found a similar photo as I was cleaning out the attic of my late aunt; this photo is titled "Papa's Home" and it is also copyrighted by Merchent's Publishing in Kalamazoo, in 1908. It was in a carton along with photos and other memerobelia that had belonged to my great-grandmother's sister, Elsie Maude Hume, who lived in or near Windsor, Nova Scotia in the late 1800's - early 1900's. In fact, all my father's side of the family came from Hants County, NS. I'm just wondering ... did the photo you found in a shop also once belong to my family, and if not, why would several people in Hants County, NS, happen to own framed photos from Kalamazoo? I'm just curious. Any ideas?
Also, by the way, did you sell your photo?
