Black Sailor andirons

By rarehare69nsc, 3 June, 2010
Description

These were picked up at a local neighborhood yard sale. Thinking they were interesting and maybe make nice lawn decorations, I bought them. After bringing them home I have begun to wonder about what, when, and where these came from and were made, etc.

Re: Black Sailor andirons

Figural andirons can be highly valuable if original, but have been reproduced since the 1980's. You'd need an appraiser who specializes in this kind of thing to physically examine them to determine what yours are.
