Re: need to know artist

Have you tried researching the signature in the bottom right hand corners of atleast two of those paintings? That is usually the painter's name...in your case it looks like it says, "M. Townsend?" Either check your local courthouse or public library for records of that person or google it! And it looks like there are years painted beside them too? I can't really make them out but maybe 1961? And can any of the frames be carefully removed? Without damaging the paintings? Sometime things are hidden behind them...

Good Luck!

Re: need to know artist

I too tried to google the artist. hmm..It may not be from a famous artist? Maybe someone who just had a painting hobby? I would take it to a local antique dealer and see if they have any suggestions as to what it is worth...? Or just see if they can tell you ANYTHING about the paintings.

Re: need to know artist

Yeah... Im going to give this web site sometime.... then if i cant find out anything... then i shall try the antique dealer.... in a non-expert opinion.. this person, he or she was gifted..would be very interesting.. If i could just find something about the persons in the paintings.. and mabye i can give someone a treasured moment or part of their past back...It is hard to not be drawn into these paintings and feel like you should some how know them.
