Photo collection

By Mark B, 5 October, 2010
Description

Hello.

I have a set of 16 original B&W prints from WWII, all with original typed captions on strips of paper that were cut out and taped to the back of each photo. I'd be interested in knowing their value as collectibles, of if I should offer copies/prints for sale through your website/consignment program, etc.

I have scanned them and named them according to their subjects. They are:

-- Brit soldier milks cow (in France)
-- Brit tommy sheds boots (in combat)
-- Death of a German soldier (photo of corpse)
-- Ducks and Shermans (duck boats and tanks moving to marshalling points for invasion)
-- Emperor Hirohito and family (feeding ducks in pond)
-- Frenchman feeds orphans (a French volunteer feeding orphan kids)
-- Helping wounded German soldier (a prisoner being attended to)
-- Monty - Dempsey - Bradley
-- Monty and King George VI at HQ (walking together on a dirt road)
-- Normandy landing craft religious services
-- Occupation over - Frenchman w-tommies
-- Question time with Monty (close shot of Monty)
-- Resting and writing letters (tommies and GI leaning on a tank)
-- Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi - Iran (riding in a jeep in a military procession through the desert)
-- Silhouette soldier
-- Three German prisoners

I also have original prints of Pablo Picasso (1); Peter Sellars and Brit Ecklund (3); Alan Ginsburg (2); and many of Giscard D'Estaing and Marshall Tito at a Paris airport (many).

I'd be happy to send along samples so you could see the photos for yourself, if you like.

Thanks for your timely input.

Cordially, Mark B.

Re: Photo collection

I don't see any of the scans.  If you didn't upload the scans here do you have a link to them?
