If there is not a marking to indicate it's Sterling silver, it's silver plated. American Sterling will be marked " Sterling" or carry a number such as "925" which stands for 925/1000ths pure silver. Here's a piece by this company with the Sterling mark.

No it's definitely Sterling and stamped as such I just didn't think to take a photo. It's solid and very heavy as well. I'm wondering the name of the pattern and it's worth?
