This is a boxed set of German stainless steel Carving utensils from the early to mid 1950's. The box itself is in fair to poor condition but the carving knife and serving fork are in excellent condition. The knife blade and handle are perfectly balanced and the blade has a beautiful picture on it. I am not an expert on this, so I cannot tell you what the handles are made of, but they look like either some type of bone or maybe an antler. The picture seems to be engraved (or etched) into the blade and contains at least 4 colors. Near the hilt, the blade has the name SOLINGEN ROSTFRE. under a fancy underlined name LUBLIM or JUBLIM depending on the interpretation of the first letter. The serving fork has STAINLESS GERMANY near the base of the fork itself. Please look at the picture for more details. The handles have been carved out also. The knife handle has a buck with 4 antler points showing while the fork handle is much heavier has a doe running. The blade and fork appear to be connected all the way through the handle and then riveted to the end cap. Please check  out the eBay auction for more pictures.
