Vase is marked as ‘Made in Japan” in the base. The vase is unusual in that it has an American Indian that has a Midwestern head dress while standing by a palm tree.

This could be depicting Hawaiian culture rather than midwestern indians. Post WWII many items came from Japan and it could be that this was a reference to the native peoples because of Pearl Harbor. The staff he is holding that is similar to a trident or crown would fit. Just an educated guess at best, but what an interesting piece!
