Antique Silver Spoons (Set of 12 in Case)

By LEAHLAW, 8 June, 2011
Description

This set of spoons were given to me by my parents, originally given to them as a gift by a friend. I've owned them since the sixties but have never used them. The case outside shows wear and tear but the interior and all 12 spoons appear to be in really good condition. The markings on the back of each spoon are a CROWN, a LION, and the letter 'd' they also have the letters WG&S.

Re: Antique Silver Spoons (Set of 12 in Case)

This is a nice set, it's Sterling silver , made in Sheffield , England in 1896 by William Gallimore & Sons. Rigth now silver bullion prices are quite high, meaning some times a set like this is worth more because of it's siver content than it's value as an antique. At auction this set should go for about $250.00
