Description
I see no markings on the bell as to who it would be made by. My mother had it for many years & was given to her from her mother.
I would like to know what it is worth & what the correct name for it is. I currently am not wanting to sell it.
My Mother has written on a piece of tape on the bottom of the base - Grandmother's 1889.

Re: Antique Silver Tap Bell
Once upon a time, these bells were used all over the service industry, in stores , hotels, resturaunts etc. to alert staff service was required. They quite often appear in old movies to alert the "Bellboy" to carry bags to a customer's room in hotels. Values for them tend to be modest, geberally under $100.00 at auction.
