Re: Plane lamp???

These generally predate World War Two, the plane depicted is most often the famous DC-3 , first flown about 1935. The Douglas DC-3 is an American fixed-wing propeller-driven aircraft whose speed and range revolutionized air transport in the 1930s and 1940s. Its lasting impact on the airline industry and World War II makes it one of the most significant transport aircraft ever made. Many DC-3s are still used in all parts of the world. Unless a piece like this has a maker's mark it's impossible to determine an exact maker. Values for them are all over the map, and depend a great deal on the local market, I've seen them sell in the $150.00- $450.00 range.

Re: Plane lamp???

You are very welcome, and thanks for posting an image of this piece. I've always had a soft spot for these, my grandparents had acouple of them about the house, I'd play with as a child, imagining the plane suddenly taking off from the stand and sailing away ;~)
