Impressionist Oil Painting signed by Martineau

By alombardi, 11 October, 2011
Description

This oil impressionist canvass painting belonged to my grandmother who bought it from from the previous owner of her house which is the house my wife and I now live in since 1993. The canvass is on a stretched Anco Bilt (24) stamped frame which was a large (in biz from 1904- 1960s?) art supplier in the northeast of the US before my time. I guess this painting to be in our family for 60 years with my mother remembering it when she was a child in the early 1950s. It is signed in the lower left hand corner as "Martineau". Any advice on it's possible origin, age and worth would be most welcome. Thanks in advance...

Your Martineau Painting

Hi!

I was wondering if you had any luck getting any background information, history, value, etc. on your painting.  I have a painting that is very similar, and has the same signature.  I appreciate any information!
