Beautiful, large dresser with mirror

By sohappytogether, 15 January, 2012
Description

Very large, heavy dresser with 2 deep drawers and two small drawers.  Wooden hardware, dresser on wheels (wooden).  Top R knob isn't missing, I forgot to put it back on for the picture :)  Entire dresser is wooden, some bolts are metal but most is made of wood.

Not sure if this has any meaning but under the drawers it states "207/16x18"

Would love to find out anything anyone might know about this beautiful piece of furniture (age? value?).  To our knowledge it has it's original finish.

Re: Beautiful, large dresser with mirror

Your piece is in what's referred to as the Empire Revival Style. The style getting the name from the fact these pieces are based on original Empire Furniture made during the second quarter of the 19th Century, but date from after 1900 when the style was revived. Values depend a great deal on whose in the crowd buying, these Revival pieces sell anywhere from $200.00- $400.00 at auctions.
