WW II German Nazi Helmet

By kseeley81, 1 February, 2012
Description

My husband found this WW II German Nazi Helmet. There are two  numbers inside, one is 066 and the other 471. It is missing interior leather and chin strap and there is some rust. Interested in if anyone could give info on numbers inside, maybe where it came from, and an estimated price a collector would pay.

Re: WW II German Nazi Helmet

Are you still interested in selling? I would be willing to pay $200 + shipping for this helmet. Thanks!

Re: WW II German Nazi Helmet

$500 would be the retail for a store...however I have noticed stores price these items much above real value because they sit on the shelf a while.  Collectors usually find things cheaper from individuals, estate sales etc and usually pay less than a website would pay.  I would say $200-$300 would be a fair price to sell it for, with $250 being fair.  If someone were desperate for it to complete their collection you may get $300-400...$500 would be a stretch and would have to be listed online in classifieds and might sit there for 2 years before it sells.  These type items have a range of value because so many were made in different years, models etc that more information and pictures would be necessary to give a true/accurate assesment.  Wear and condition has an effect on value as well and I cannot see the condition well from 1 picture so I am giving you a 'ballpark'.  I spent about 30 hours this weekend researching a German sidecap my grandfather collected when he was a U.S. rifleman in WWII so I saw many items this week and am basing my pricing off research...search around the web if you need more info, I have a few more links if you can't find anything.  Here is one:

This book might help, you can browse it online free up to a certain amount of times.

*correction, collectors pay less than a website would SELL it for, not pay.

Looking forward to your reply.

Re: WW II German Nazi Helmet

O66 is the shell size and the other number is just a serial number from the production line.

How much would you take for it? Does it have the leather liner and chin strap?
