Description
This is print purchased from the Taber Prang Art Company titled "The Kill" by Herring. The frame number listed on the tag by Taber is 9600. I took it out of the frame to see if there were any other markings on the back but it appears that the print and mat are one piece or that the print was glued into the mat. I am not sure if this was the way they sold them or if this was done afterwards.. It has beautiful colors (especially the brilliant red) throughout and I was wondering if these were hand done? I am curious when this was done, if it is indeed a lithograph and what the current value would be. Any information would be welcome. Thanks!
Re: Lithograph? "The Kill" by Herring
These prints were originally sold in cheap Five & Dime store frames, Taber Prang was priamairily in the frame business, the prints went with the frame. Most like yours date from right around World War One and into the early 1920's.
As for value, about $60.00 at auction.
