Vintage lamp

By daverinhull, 20 February, 2012
Description

This is a large glazed ceramic vase. It is deeply carved. I know nothing about it and would love it if anyone could shed any light on it's age, manufacturer, etc.

Re: Vintage lamp

These generally date from the late 1950's through the mid 1960's, but without a label it's really hard to tell much else. Some are designer pieces, others mass market department store stuff.  Yours is similar in style to this one http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/10327162

There might be a pottery mark under the felt on the bottom, try removing that and let us know what you find.

Re: Vintage lamp

Thank you for the info. I got it along with a beautiful marbro opaline table lamp which I was able to research so I thought it might be more than just a "mass market" piece. Either way, I like it for it's funkiness... and it's orange. Thanks again
