Annie Oakley Postcard

Description

Studio photo of Annie Oakley wearing her hair up, fringed long dress wearing a hip gun holster with hand gun.  Annie is leaning agains a chair with a very light studio back drop.  It is assumed this was a studio in England where the postcard was purchased during one of her England visits.

It is not autographed, but I have not found another picture like it as of yet and I have searched dailey.

I would check your facts and history on this item. I believe it is misrepresented. This postcard came into being a decade and a half after Annie Oakley met with Queen Victoria.

Unless the card is marked to indicate who it is, it could be any of the female performers in any of the many Wild West shows travelling at the time. It does not resemble any I've seen of Annie, but you never know. You'll have to find a specialist collector or contact the historical society that deals with Annie Oakley memorabilia.

Rare Annie Oakley Photograph Postcard Circa 1895-1900, London, England | Collectors Weekly http://www.pinterest.com/ I found this same postcard here hope this helps. The more and more I look at this photo I think it might be Lillian Smith   who was with the show at same time.
