A. Santini ivory sculpture

By frenchiemichele, 28 June, 2012
Description

The sculpture is off-white and we were told it was made of ivory.  There is A. Santini carved on the sculpture itself, and it has also been stamped on the base along with the word "Italy".  There is the A. Santini seal underneath as well.  I have seen a lot of low value ones online, but the colour and texture seems completely different then what I have.  Mine is more of a beige/ivory colour, as the ones online I see are very white.

Re: A. Santini ivory sculpture

I was pretty sure I've answered this one before.  These Santini figures are not ivory, antique or hand carved, they are a form of plastic resin that resembles ivory. Most like this seldom predate the 1980's and were made for the Collectibles market. Values for them tend to be rather modest when they are identified for what they, at often under $150.00.
