This chair was bought years ago in a Maine antiques store. I would like to know if it  is a valuable piece.

Without actaully examining it it dsifficult to determine the age of your chair. The demand for art deco and Victroian Wicker in the 1980's was so great the demand outstripped supply and it was reproduced in huge numbers to fill the gap,  nearly all of it from places like China. The end result was values for wicker across the board dropped considerably and has not recovered. In the case of unmarked wicker , we see comparable rockers in good shape often go for under $100.00 at auction.
