Description
The item I have is a small sculture about 9" high and 7" wide at the lowest part of sculpture. I took a picture of the bottom and it has what looks to me like asian writing. I'm not sure of the metal that is used. Maybe bronze or copper?
Re: Small Asian Sculpture
Similar to the court mascot in Ming Dynasty which consists of a crane and a tortoise. According to Chinese legends, the crane signifies ever green ,the tortoise represents longevity and polyporus lucidus fungus in its mouth is a magic medicine that restores youth.

Thank you for the information! I suppose the photo of the bottom is too blurry to read. Any idea of what I could sell it for if I decided to? Is it probably bronze? Anyway, thank you for the info again!
Re: Small Asian Sculpture
I cant read Asian marks. Has it been repaired at the cranes ankles?
Re: Small Asian Sculpture
Yes, it looks like it has.
Re: Small Asian Sculpture
What could a fair value be if I tried to sell it? I understand that the repaired legs have devalued it now. THanks.
Re: Small Asian Sculpture
May I know the procedure of doing it, as I tried but could not.
