Description
This is a large green trunk. I purchased it from a guy who was a collector he had alot of nice stuff. This trunk has two shipping labels on it where it looks like it traveled from pensacola florida to genova itally. The handles and closure locks are broken but it still has a sturdy structure. There is no rot as far as i can tell. it still has the orignal upper tray although the elastic is wore out as you would expect on a piece this old.
I would like to know any info that you may be able to tell me about the age and how much should i value it at.
Re: Large Steamer Trunk Early 1900's (i believe)
Yor trunk was practially new when it made the trip, trunks like this one date from about 1900 onward with verylittle change through the 1930's. At auction in the rough they often go for under $100.00. We sell good clean ones in the shop for about $225.00.

I would agree with Lovejoy on the prices provided. It is unfortunate that yours happens to have some condition issues. I would think yours is worth $65-$125 if it went to auction. I would expect retail would be in the neighborhood of that upper number, maybe $10-$25 more to the right person. Good luck, thanks for sharing.
Re: Large Steamer Trunk Early 1900's (i believe)
Thank you both very much, I knew it had some condition issues but I like that it has documented travels to italy, and i'm hoping that a collector will like that too. I think I'm listing it for $125.
Oh also, I bought a 1966 Siberian Fur Store EMBA Autumn Haze Mink that i will be posting on here probably tomorrow that i would like your input on.
Thanks,
Ben
