Re: Sugar Tongs? Serving Tongs?
Item is for sale, but I would like to know the history first
Re: Sugar Tongs? Serving Tongs?
They look like tongs for a pickle castor set, most are silver plated. You'd have to either have someone identify the marking or have the metal tested to determine its silver content. before a value could be determined.
Re: Sugar Tongs? Serving Tongs?
Your response is much appreciated. I actually have never heard of a pickle castor, so this put me in a new direction. This is just an observation, but by looking at most of the different varieties of pickle castors...the tongs all seem to be hand or tweezer shaped at the end, and not round. I will see if I can get a decent photograph of the hallmark later this evening to post. Thanks again!
