Description

Dressing Table/Vanity
tab on back says "Made By the McClellan Mfg. Co. Los Angeles"
I think it's either Mahogany or Walnut
simple hand carved designs
Machine dovetail drawers
cracks going across the top of both side tables

I bought this at a yardsale and it definitely needs some love (cleaning and conditioner)

I am not going to do anything to it until I have an idea of what I have.

Can anyone give me an estimate of age and value?

This piece is based on the French Provincial style, which been revived about every 30 years sinc rhe late 19th century. This one dates from the second quarter of the 20th century, no huge vallue though, we pick these up at auction, quite often for under $150.00.

These are generally a mix of walnut, walnut veneers and maple, then stained to provide an even color.

If there is a finish on it the wood is sealed, nothing will penetrate the finish, all you can do is apply a good paste wax or furniture polish.
